Who am I?
Hi there! My name is Liz Dowsett and I have a great love of travel and adventure along with a passion for creating (including quilting & poetry). I'm also a bit of a movie buff and I love Investing! Enjoying these activities requires money, so it’s great to be able to fund and nurture my adventurous and creative pursuits through my financial knowledge and investing activity.
What is my background?
Staying at home to raise my family was a privilege I realise not everyone is afforded but I certainly wasn't keen to lose my financial independence during that time. Having worked in the corporate world for 15 years I decided to branch out and start my own virtual assistant business which I could fit in around my parental duties. Little did I know that was to be the beginning of sparking my entrepreneurial spirit and over time I've managed to come up with a number of ways to make extra money through business activity, alternative income sources and investing. The great thing was that I could choose to spend it on my family or just spend it on myself without having to dip into the family budget. It was great! As I began to save and accumulate funds I also became a big fan of educating myself around ways to invest that money to my financial advantage and to see it grow over time. I was amazed at what was available to me and opportunities that existed where I didn't need huge amounts of money.
Why did I create this course?
One of the most important elements of creating financial success is to understand the exact steps required and I realised I'd spent a number of years trying to figure this out. So I asked myself what would I have wanted my 20 year old self to know? The result is a series of steps which are practical and easy to follow for anyone who wants to work towards reaching their financial goals.
